The last time Coach Rod Broadway received a lot of media attention, it was focused on him leaving Grambling for either Florida A&M University or Duke University. While many "insiders" claimed that Broadway was indeed leaving, Broadway insists that he never thought about leaving.

On Friday, Grambling State University was shut down because of out-of-control fighting and gunshots being fired.
According to The News-Star, Ralph Wilson, the GSU media relations officer, said the GSU Emergency notification system was activated at 2 p.m.

The 2008 TigerFest went well for the majority of the week. It seemed that all events were positive and students enjoyed the last bit of festivities before the close of the school year.
This was until Friday afternoon when students were shocked to see dozens of state troopers with assault rifles around the campus of Grambling State University, ordering students to remove themselves from campus.

A few of the Creative and Performing Arts faculty members are playing musical chairs this semester.
Burt Allen is being promoted to coordinator of the music program for CAPA. Tony Smith has been coordinator of music for four years, but Allen will take the reins at the end of the semester.
