I was about to commend the staff on educating our kids about the injustice that is currently taking place in Jena. But am I trippin or is that a rope around that little girls neck on pics 11-13? Please correct me if I'm wrong. (Continued…)

Yes, it was a rope around the little girls neck. It was a (safe)demonstration as to what the rope symbolized to Blacks. This was my grand-daighter and she along with so many of the other students did not understand the intimidation of the noose. (Continued…)

When I received the Sunday edition of the Ruston Daily Leader and saw the picture of my kids school on the front page and read the headline, the first thing that came to my mind was "oh Lord, what now". (Continued…)

I saw the photo. I read the grandmother's response. I say, "thank you" grandmother for attempting to teach your granddaughter what hate really is and the huge amount of hate that has been shown towards people who look just like her at the hands CAUCASIAN people. (Continued…)

When will African American administrators and faculty at HBCUs learn that you cannot stifle the First Amendment in misguided attempts to appease nervous community members and ill informed alumni? Remember Hampton University tried that nonsense several years ago and received serious repercussions to their Journalism program because of it. (Continued…)

In response to Rico and Dr. Colas: Okay, I am not a white person. I am a Black woman. I grew up in the suburbs and had to deal with A LOT, I mean A LOT of racism and prejudice but of course NOTHING that could compare with what Black people dealt with in the past. (Continued…)
